I am currently assistant lecturer at University College Copenhagen where I help educate the teachers of tomorrow in the subject Danish.

Previously, I have been lecturer in Danish and Scandinavian Culture at the University of Texas, Austin where I loved collaborating with my students on exploring the Nordic Countries and their culture.

I worked as a post doctoral scholar at the Department of Arts and Culture, University of Copenhagen, Denmark where I did a project on space and place in contemporary Nordic comics funded by The Danish Council for Independent Research.

My PhD research is on time and space in comics and I am generally interested in the field of comics history, theory and analysis. My MA (2009) and BA (2004) are in Comparative Literature.

Other interests are contemporary literature and culture, image-text relation, the culture(s) of metal, science fiction, fantasy, digital culture and the theories and histories hereof. I am particularly interested in the relationship between theory and practice and as a teaching scholar I am preoccupied with how we can do research through teaching and vice versa - teaching with research.

I also work on the communication of science through comics and other media, specifically in reading and writing teaching in Danish at University College Copenhagen.

Other projects in the pipeline are articles on Nordic comics, the relationship between practice and theory and a book on time and space in comics.
